Okay so I know I haven't been around for a couple weeks. There was a lot of family life things going on. So here is the download update.
About 2 months ago we knew we would be making a trip out to Utah for a funeral. We were playing the waiting game.
My Grandpa has been fighting his forth round of cancer. He was having treatments done and seemed to be responding well. We weren't concerned about it. My mom, brother, and sister were heading to Utah to drop my sister off at college with her car. While they were out there they stayed with my grandparents. My mom saw that my grandpa wasn't doing well. She called my dad and they decided that he would go out there to be able to spend time with him. (It was my dad's father). So after my mom and brother came back my dad went out. He knew his father wasn't going to live much longer.
The doctor told them that his body was in a progressive decline. Meaning that it doesn't matter how much food he ate or got up and moved around his body wouldn't recover. Once we got the news we quickly packed. We didn't leave right away but after praying we just felt like we needed to be prepared to leave quickly. It wasn't till 2 weeks later that we actually left. He passed away with my grandma right next to him. It is comforting to me to know that they were together. They had been married for 59 years.

This is a picture back in May 2013 right before I went into the Missionary Training Center to serve my 18 month LDS mission.
This is my four generations picture. So thankful I was able to get this picture. This was 2 months after my son was born back in 2016.
So we were on the road after we got the news. After we had been on the road for a few hours my mom got a phone call from a family friend. (Really they are like family.) But we received news that a close friend Tina had passed away. Tina has been a big sister to me for such a long time. Her daughters call my son their cousin and my parents are Grandma Sally and Grandpa Blake. It was very unexpected news. Within 24 hours we had lost 2 family members. The rest of the drive out there was filled with tears and prayers.
This is from my wedding. Tina and her daughters drove from Las Vegas to Payson Utah to come to my wedding! Tina was our running buddy as well! She was signed up for the next 2 races we were planning on and there were more ideas in the works. She was a huge part of our lives. Everyday Tina was there.
There are many things that I could say about both of these amazing people. They each left a legacy that will influence many! Mostly they were full of love. They showed me how to love others, how to work hard, and how to laugh even when times are hard.
We are now back to normal life. Back to running a normal schedule and figuring out how to heal from this heartache.
Next post will be all about my half marathon!! Stay tuned!
