Week of fun!

Sometimes you just need a visit from your best friend! This month has been a crazy one but thankfully God knew we would need a visit at this time when we planned this trip MONTHS ago. We planned this out and it happened to land a time exact time that both of us needed a visit from each other!

Okay so this is my best friend Vanessa!

She is from Idaho and has never been to the south! So naturally we needed to go get some good southern BBQ! We went to Martin's BBQ and man was it good! We are obsessed with their sauce man that is so good!!

We packed a bunch into 8 days!

Basically we did a lot of playing outside! First because my son LOVES to be outside, and second because the weather was just so nice that who wanted to stay inside! NOT US!

So her sister in law introduced her to a thing called Letterboxing. Okay so you have heard of geocaching and this is similar in a way. So there is a website where you can find them in certain towns. So what is it? Well there are locations where there is a box with a stamp and a notebook inside. You as the finder also have a notebook and your own stamp. Once you find it you put your stamp in their book and their stamp in your book. We found probably 5-6 of them! There are some really creative stamps and hiding spots! I liked it because it got us outside and doing something. It was also fun for my son because he hates staying in the house. We will see how he handles winter.

We made sure we got her here for Halloween! We took my son out trick-or-treating in the neighborhood and he wasn't a fan of it at first. Once he figured out that if he took his pumpkin up to the door and held it out he would be candy! It was the coolest thing ever!! He got upset when we weren't eating it as we went along.

Somewhere along the way back home he threw his hat out of the wagon....We didn't notice till we were home and going to trick-or-treat to my parents. So after we dropped him off at the house we left to go find the hat. It was back at the end of the route we had taken.... It was too cute of a hat to not go find.

We are both Dave Ramsey fans. So we went to Dave Ramsey Solutions! I mean its the only place that you can see Dave. He was recording his show right when we stopped by and so it was perfect!! We didn't stay very long, but it was something that she could only see in Tennessee! So why not! My husband had the day off so he was able to come with us! That made it so much fun!

Okay so in that selfie of us you can totally see how people think we are sisters! We have been asked so many times if we are twins! We act like we have been friends our whole life but we were college roommates!

Story of how we met is pretty simple. We were both freshman and moving into an apartment where we knew no one. I moved in first and picked the room where no one was yet. We made my bed and unpacked my clothes and then headed to the store. While we were gone Vanessa moved in. Each room had at least one person already in there, but no one was home at the moment. So the questions is how do you pick a room...OBVIOUSLY by which bed spread is cute! She saw mine and thought she seems like she would be nice... So she started moving in. We were shy freshman so we didn't really embrace the friendship right away....Well one day while I was doing homework I was listening to my ipod. My phone started ringing and I didn't hear it so she took a highlighter and threw it at me to get my attention to tell me my phone was ringing. From that day one we were inseparable!

We got to go to the Temple while she was here. Will and Bryce had a daddy/son hangout time till we got out!

The last night she was here we were trying to find something sweet to eat. Well we decided to make a piecaken! Its a pie inside of a cake!

You can do almost any combination. This one is a spice cake with pecan pie with cream cheese frosting! We didn't have time to get a pie that you need to bake first so we got a premade pie. It is so rich! We found out about piecaken last year during Thanksgiving. My brother in law really wanted to try one and so we decided to try it. It was a success!

That sums up the week! More posts are coming!

Take 2

I got busy with life and there were other things that took priority over my blog. Though I loved writing, I needed to focus on me and my family. Since its been a while let me update you. I had my second baby. A little boy named Nash. Sweet guy! I had to have an emergency c-section because I had no fluid and he was breech. They were going to try and flip him but when we got to it he went into distress. I remember thinking I just wanted my baby to be okay. I never wanted a c-section. It scared me! I mean it is major surgery! Will thought it was pretty cool to watch! He was the first to hold our little guy! My recovery was way different than expected. But once I was able to run again I got to it! I think that helped a lot with my scar tissue not building up. I had to find different sports bras since I was nursing! I love  Senita  Athletics nursing sports bras. Super easy to nurse right after my runs and covered everything I needed. I feel better being covered when I nurs...
