Okay everyone who had a fitbit or any other kind of activity watch you have either participated in one or know someone who has. I have entered into a couple different ones. But I tried a step challenge with my husband and it ended very quickly since it might have caused martial problems.... We are both way too competitive. But I decided I want to try and hit my step goal everyday. Of course the day I decided that I had a massive headache that I couldn't get rid of yesterday so I didn't hit my step goal but today is a new day!!!
Yesterday we went over to a friends house that we will be house sitting for in a few months to get familiar with things and learn the routine. We will be doing this once a week until the time we stay there. It was really fun. My son enjoyed having a new place to explore! There was also a cat and my son has never been around a cat so it was new for him!

After that we went home for nap time and got to relax for a minute. This is just about the same time the headache hit. I tried to sleep it off but no success. So the rest of the say I tried to just relax and not make it worse.
But today is a new day! I love being able to just start again. Yesterday wasn't the greatest day but that doesn't mean that I have to throw in the towel. I have a new step goal and am ready to keep it going.
The best thing about my step goal is that it adjusts based on how active I have been recently. So right now it has my goal set to only about 5000. Its an easier goal that what my phone activity app tells me. That has it set to 10,000. For someone who hasn't been very active recently or at all that goal can seem daunting. As I consistently hit my step goal it increases a little at a time. So it encourages you to not only be active to hit a goal but to keep increasing your goal to improve.
While we were training for our half marathon my step goal was consistently around 9000-10,000 but with running 3-4 times every week that wasn't a daunting goal. So I started a step goal with my husband again. But this time its just to try and keep up with him, not to win. He does a lot more walking/running than I do right now. So to keep me trying to hit my step goal I am going to try to keep up with him a little more. We shall see how it goes!
Sitting on the porch after the rain yesterday!
My goal today is to hit my step goal and to get all packed to watch my friends kids for the week while they go on a cruise! One day after my husband graduates from his masters program and he has an "adult" job, we plan on going on a cruise to celebrate! Supporting him while he is chasing his dream means more than the world to me! I always thought the best feeling was accomplishing your own dreams. But as I have helped him start on this road for his dreams nothing really compares! So here is to chasing dreams and goals, while smiling and loving every minute of it!
