So this whole blogging thing is new to me. I get side tracked really easy and now with being 14.5 weeks pregnant I get baby brain as well! I am going to keep trying to blog more. I am not currently training for a race but my mom has a half marathon coming up in April, so I am going to be her training partner.
I was so excited to find out I was pregnant, but I got some nausea along with it. That was the hardest part to try and get up and workout. I tried to get up and go but with it being cold outside and not feeling good I didn't push myself too hard. I wish that I could but that is something that I need to continue to work on.
So today was the first day I got back out and ran. It was a gorgeous day first of all which helps me to want to get out and run. I wasn't really planning on running. I had my 1 year old in the stroller and I haven't trained with him before. I was planning on just walking and being outside and enjoying it. But as we got started I felt good and decided to run a little. I was able to run more than I thought. The big thing that I need to learn is how to run with a stroller. That means its time for me to do research!
As if running isn't hard enough running with a stroller is crazy hard! Especially when your toddler is over 30 lbs! My son loves to be outside so going for a run in the stroller is so easy! He has his drink in his cup holder along with goldfish and the sun shining!! What more could a toddler want?
So I only ran 2 miles with the stroller, but man those 2 miles felt like 10! Okay thats a bit of an exaggeration but it was harder than just running 2 miles. So my first miles was a a 16:20 with my average speed going 3.7. Mile 2 was 17:01 going 3.5. Not too bad for running for the first time running with the stroller and being 14 weeks pregnant!
My goal is to do my best to make running a priority to keep it so I have the motivation to make this a habit. I want to build my self discipline to be able to get out and going even on the days where I don't really want to or I feel like I don't have the energy. I haven't really felt like I have energy to do more than play cars with my son, and today was just the same. But we got out and ran and now I feel like I have so much more energy than I have had in a long time! Its been great!
I am hoping to keep up with the blogging again this time around!
