Sundays are hard! I love going to church, and having a 14 month old at church right in the middle of nap time can be difficult...
This week has been a crazy week for my little one. He has been teething like crazy! He just got his last canine tooth this week!! Which hopefully means we are done teething for a little while at least. He has a mouth full of teeth and they are sore. We give him pain medicine but sometimes that seems like its not enough.
My husband has also been working like crazy! He probably works close to 40-50 hours a week. That is coming from three different jobs. He is doing an internship with MTSU currently to finish up his bachelors. Not having him around all day and most nights is hard, but I know that it is just for a short time. We are working hard to get that degree!! Can't wait to get that piece of paper in the mail!!! His others jobs include Old Navy in the mall, and officiating flag football. My husband LOVES being an official! It makes watching football better for me because he explains the rules in a way that I can understand!
Anyways today was kind of the end of my rope. Thankfully I have an awesome family who helps me so much! We came home from church got my son down for his nap and I got to lay down for a little bit and just take some time for myself. After dinner we all wanted something sweet to eat! So I got voted to make peanut butter pie!
I don't like peanut butter but man this pie is good!
Now I know some people are very concerned about calories and sweets don't fit into many diet plans unless you do sugar-free or fat-free. I am not that kind of wellness coach. Now counting calories and making sure that you are within a good calorie range are a good thing! But that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy your food or a desert sometimes!
Now keep that within reason! After I had my son my mom came to stay with us for 3 weeks and made us a peanut butter pie everyday! My husband gained 13lbs!! Yikes! But having a treat sometimes makes it so food isn't the enemy. When food becomes the enemy it can make the problem worse! Your body needs calories to even breathe and have a heartbeat. For your body to do the basics of life your body needs at minimum 1200 calories. That's the lowest a person should ever go. Consuming less than 1200 calories your body then goes into starvation mode and stores fat more easily to keep your body alive. So if you are a person who struggles to get enough calories, ALWAYS do whatever you can to hit that 1200 mark! If you have to eat a bowl of ice cream or a brownie to get used to eating that many calories then do it! You will start to see results. Once your body gets used to that try and replace the sweet treat with something else and save those treats for special occasions or on those hard days like today where you just need to indulge once in a while!
I am working on making sure I log my calories everyday. Its a lot harder than it should be!
